The delegation headed by Dr. H.Aunur Rofiq, Chairman Darunnajah Islamic institution had a meeting with Vice Chancellor AIOU Prof. Shahid Siddiqui, followed by signing of a MoU that paved the way for academic exchanges mainly through online education.
Dr. Siddiqui briefed the delegation about the learning system of the University that aimed at enhancing literacy rate and promoting research-based study at the higher education level.
He said the Muslim countries are direly needed to share their academic resources for enhancing their international standing in the educational field.
The AIOU is keen to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with the brotherly Muslim countries like Indonesia for the benefit of their students, particularly in the fields of Islamic studies, teachers education and Economics, he added.
Leader of Indonesian delegation lauded the AIOU’s learning system and its academic strength and said they were looking forward to develop their bilateral cooperation in the areas of common interest.
The MoU was signed by the Deputy Registrar Dr. Zaigham Qadeer on behalf of the AIOU who hoped that the document will be a milestone in development of long-term partnership in the education field.
Prof. Zahid Majeed, Incharge AIOU’s office of international exchanges and collaboration gave a presentation on the University’s overall working.
Later, the delegation took a round of various departments of the University including its Central Library, Press and Publication and Institute of Information Technology.
