Punjab govt to provide subsidy to registered farmers on sunflower cultivation

Punjab government is taking measures to ensure cultivation of sunflower crop on 100,000 acres of land in the province.

According to spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department Shakeel Uppal, the objective of this initiative is to reduce dependence in import of edible oils.

Uppal said government will provide Rs. 5,000 subsidy per acre to the registered farmers of sun flower who will cultivate the crop on at least 10 acres of land.

For this purpose, the farmers can register themselves on helpline 0800-15000 and 0800-29000.
