Wasa to install wastewater, surface water treatment plants

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) intends to install six waste-water and surface water treatment plants in the provincial capital.
The Wasa sources said the surface water plant would be set up at Ravi Siphon.
The sources said in the first phase, 100 to 150 cusec water of River Chenab would be cleaned and provided to Lahorites for usage.
The initiative would help meet water needs besides ensuring stability in the water level, they added.
They further said that installation of waste water plants would help in reducing aquatic pollution and protecting aquatic creatures.
Chinese, Denish and Turk companies have shown keen interest to work on surface water and waste water projects while the Asian Development Bank had also assured of financial support.
